In Washington, D.C. , where big things happen... the U.S. Supreme Court recently delivered a huge year- end gift to LGBTQ+ people and believers in the power of equality across the country when the justices unanimously rejected a petition that attempted to resurrect the ghost of marriage equality.

The thing is, there are people who still feel nostalgic and want society to go back to the way it was. They hope the court will relent and revisit the historic 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges case , which gave same-sex couples the right to marry throughout the United States. But it seems that hope has been dashed!

The Supreme Court has sent a clear and unequivocal signal that "it's over." Its decision nine years ago remains sacred and a cornerstone of American law. This decision serves as a reminder that the door to equality has opened and will never close again.

This is not only good news for the hundreds of thousands of same-sex couples in the United States, who will now be able to enjoy a stable and worry-free family life, but also sends a message to the world that "love" is a universal right that should not be limited by gender.

Despite the constant undercurrents trying to change the course of society, the Supreme Court's strong stand proves that time has moved on and American society has come too far to turn back. The triumph of love and equality continues to be a story worth celebrating and inspiring people around the world.
