The government has launched eight measures to "rehabilitate and provide relief" for the flooding in Hat Yai, helping all groups of citizens and accelerating the city's recovery.

Following the massive flooding in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, the government announced eight major relief and rehabilitation measures to alleviate the suffering of residents, businesses, and bereaved families, with the goal of returning the city to normal as quickly as possible.


1. Debt suspension for 1 year

Allowing debtors with a balance not exceeding 1 million baht to suspend principal and interest payments for 1 year.

Covering both commercial bank debtors and state financial institutions


2. 100,000 baht survival loan

Interest-free for 6 months

Long-term installment payments available for 3 years

To help people with their urgent living expenses


3. Home repair loan of 100,000 baht

Help people whose houses were damaged by floods

1 year interest-free, 3-year installment plan

Ready to cover loan guarantee projects


4. Urgent car insurance claim

All insurance companies must expedite claims for flood-damaged vehicles.

Simplify the process to ensure that car owners receive the fastest possible compensation.


5. Social Security pays the full amount.

Insured persons affected in disaster areas will receive advanced compensation in accordance with their social security rights.

Help reduce the burden of income disruption during the city's restoration.


6. Compensation for the deceased: 2 million baht

For families of those who died in areas under the Emergency Decree

The government provides financial support to alleviate family burdens.


7. Help SMEs revive their businesses.

Measures to take care of small business owners in disaster-affected areas

Emphasis on urgent business recovery in the heavily affected trade and service sectors


8. Stimulate the economy – attract tourists back to the area

Prepare tax measures and organize activities to build confidence in Hat Yai.

To attract Thai and foreign tourists to revive their spending in the city


The government emphasizes that the eight measures are only the "initial phase," and that the situation will be continually assessed to increase assistance if necessary. The goal is to get Hat Yai back on its feet as quickly as possible, both economically and socially, and to improve the quality of life of its citizens.
